I have owned in this neighborhood for 18 years. There has been promise of the neighborhood improving from the first day that I moved in. The economy tanked afterward. The city, community, neighborhood leadership did not work in the favor of the neighborhood's health and improvement. There have been starts and stops of development, but we are drug infested and the schools continue to fail our students. Parents aren't engaged and I don't know of schools encouraging, inviting or demanding involvement. While I don't support incentives for good parentlng, perhaps that is something that could be done. I don't know. It's very much systemic and at a higher level to be worked out and through. NPU 1
The have a direct impact on an individuals health NPU 1
