1.  I have an approved clinical research protocol and I want to use the CRC to initiate the project, what is the first step?

Complete the CRC application found on the front page the CRC website http://www.msm.edu/Research/research_centersandinstitutes/CRC/index.php

2.  What services do the CRC offer?

Core services offered by the CRC can be found on the CRC website at http://www.msm.edu/Research/ResearchFacilities/CoreServices.php

If you need further clarification on any of the services, please contact the director or manager of the service.

3. Who can I contact for immediate assistance if I have questions in general?

4.  I need research staff to assist me with my study, is it my responsibility to ensure that salary support is available?

This is a discussion that will take place after your initial application has been received. Although staff may be available to assist in some aspects, you will have the ultimate responsibility for staffing your research project.

5.  If I have my own staff, is there space available at the Center to accommodate them?

Space is limited and this would need to be discussed during the application process.

6.  Do I need to be present when my participants arrive at the CRC?

It is the responsibility of all PIs to ensure that their research project runs according to approval from the IRB.

7.  If I’m having a problem recruiting, what type of assistance is available?

The Program Manager for Recruitment (Pamela Cooper, ./ext. 1975) can assist you with different avenues of recruiting research subjects.

8.  My participants can only come on the weekend or evenings, will there be staff available during this time?

The CRC will accommodate your staffing needs, please contact the Clinical Trials Manager or Dr. Priscilla Pemu if you require appointments outside of the normal MSM working hours.

9.  I’m writing a protocol that requires participants to stay overnight or during a 24 hour period, is this a project I can bring to the CRC?

Yes, the CRC will accommodate this type of research project, however, the details would need to be discussed and coordinated.

10.  A participant has an issue, is there someone available to assist them other than the research staff? Yes, the Research Subject Advocate (Jackie Ali, ., ext. 1140) is there to support research participants with any concerns.
