Consider participating in a Feeding Study on Diabetes
This study is looking to see if the food we eat affects the cells that make insulin. Healthy insulin levels keep our blood sugars controlled and keep us from developing diabetes.
Why Participate?
* You will get 3 meals a day for 12 weeks.
* You will help the researchers to understand the causes of diabetes.
* You MAY lower your blood pressure.
* You MAY have more energy.
* You MAY lose weight.
* You MAY help our community to eliminate health disparities in diabetes.
You MAY reverse prediabetes or diabetes without medications
Who Can Participate?
* Adults over age 18 years
* Prediabetes or early diabetes - HbA1c: 5.7% - 7.0%
* Not on medications for diabetes.
* Self-identified African American.
* Can commit to 12 weeks of participation.
* Able to store a week’s supply of prepared meals.
* Non-smokers.
* Not on dialysis.
* No food allergies
