  • All of Us Research Program

All of Us Research Program is a historic, longitudinal effort to gather data from one million or more people living in the United States to accelerate research and improve health. Through this Program, researchers will have information to better understand health and disease and speed up medical breakthroughs. By understanding individual differences in people's health, neighborhood, family and lifestyle, researchers will be able to speed up medical breakthroughs and make progress toward delivering precision medicine.

  • MSM-COVID-19- Risk Assessment for Sickle Cell Trait Carriers and Disparity Associated Factors

A cross-sectional evaluation of the association between presence of Sickle Cell Trait and COVID-19 Infection. Specifically, this study will examine, among patients evaluated at Grady hospital during the COVID-19 outbreak, if the presence of Sickle Cell trait is associated with the likelihood of a positive diagnosis for the infection.

  • A Multicenter, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled, Randomized Withdrawal, Parallel Group Study of Patiromer for the Management of Hyperkalemia in Subjects Receiving Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System Inhibitor (RAASi) Medications for the Treatment of Heart Failure (DIAMOND

To determine if Patiromer treatment of subjects who developed hyperkalemia (high potassium in the blood) while receiving Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitor (RAASi) medications will result in continued use of RAASi medications in accordance with heart failure (HF) treatment guidelines and there by decreases the occurrence of the combined endpoint of cardiovascular (CV) death and CV hospitalization events compared with placebo treatment. This study will evaluate whether patiromer can manage blood potassium in subjects who either already have high potassium or who are at a high risk of developing it while receiving RAASi medication.

  • Understanding Racial Demographics of Parkinson's Disease (PD) among African Americans

This project looks retrospective database assessment using Grady Health System (GHS) and Morehouse Healthcare electronic health records used in EPIC, a medical records system. Retrospective Chart review study to investigating how Parkinson’s disease is impacted by patient demographics.

  • Prevention Employing a Multiomics Plasma-based Test for Colorectal Cancer

The main goal of this research study is to collect health information and blood samples from people who are going to have a standard-of-care screening colonoscopy. The blood samples along with other health information from patients who take part in the study may help the Sponsor develop new diagnostic tests that may help detect cancer or other diseases in other patients in the future.

  • Newmark

This is not a treatment study. For the proposed research we will collect blood and urine samples in a time-matched manner from HIV+ and HIV- volunteers. The samples will be tested using in vitro laboratory assays for research purposes only. The goal is to critically evaluate the working hypothesis that VL in HIV+ patients is positively correlated with our ability to detect extracellular vesicle-associated HIV proteins in urine.
